Cash Back Pledge for Hearts Fans

Recommended Posts

Caley Thistle are set to hand back a portion of the away ticket proceeds from the upcoming Scottish Premiership clash with Hearts next weekend. Money will go to the Hearts 1874 Fighting Fund which is working tirelessly to assist their club through a very difficult period.

Inverness will welcome Gary Locke and his team to the Tulloch Caledonian Stadium next Saturday (kick-off 3pm) and the 1874 Fighting Fund will receive £5 for every full-paying fan above the average away crowd of 650 for the fixture.

Chairman, Kenny Cameron said: “Having been very impressed with the cash back offer to Hearts from St Johnstone, we discussed doing something similar with David Southern, Hearts’ MD, and are delighted to assist them in any way we can.

“When ever a club gets in to financial difficulty it is often the fans who are asked to ‘save the day’. Though this is just a small gesture from ICT, I am sure that every little helps in difficult times.

“The way the Hearts fans have rallied round to every request from the club to continually dip in to their pockets has been magnificent and it is not just the Hearts fans, similar things have been done at the likes of Rangers and Dunfermline, whose fans also stepped in to assist their clubs in their hour of need.

“As David said this is viewed as one of the best ‘away days’ for the fans and all fans who travel will do so in the knowledge they are assisting their own club both on and off the field and will be made most welcome in Inverness.”

The gesture has been warmly received by Heart of Midlothian FC, with managing director David Southern saying: “We are very grateful to everyone who is helping Hearts at this time.

“The gesture from Inverness is another great example of this.

“We are very appreciative of this opportunity and while we know that our own supporters have had to dip into their pockets time and time again, with this being our last game for a fortnight we expect that the £5 cash back offer to Hearts from Inverness is likely to encourage a few more to travel up to Inverness for what is often viewed as one of the best away-days for the fans.”

Head of fans group, Caley Jags Together, David Balfour commented: "The Jambos have really rallied to get behind their team this season with great crowds following them home and away. For that reason alone it's fantastic to see other clubs offering them the opportunity to get a little extra back for their efforts and we fully support our club with this offer of assistance for the 1874 Fighting Fund."

We should show sympathy for any club in financial trouble, but we should never lift a finger to help any of the clubs who voted us out of the SPL. They made their choice and their choice was to fuck us, so fuck the lot of them.

You in stealth mode?:)

Another example of how much we are hated.
