Purslow is in a different league altogether, he stood up to Hicks & Co at Liverpool and won.

Just the type of man we need to sort things out; he would significanlty improve our profile and standing in the football world.

But we would need him long term or at least for 3-5 years, not the short term deal he had at Liverpool and what would his salary be?

didn't he go to court with he bank to fore gillette and hicks to sell?

Naming a new CEO is all very well but without controlling the Board he cannot do very much. So who are the requisitioners proposing to be on the Board in addition to Paul Murray?

ps. a wee birdie told me that the AGM could be on October 24th.

I am not sure what the rules are with regard to that.

Neither am I mate, but I've seen quite a few people saying that the 10th would have been the latest date allowed for meeting the 31st Oct' deadline for the AGM. Not sure if that's correct or not, but 21 days seems to be a common factor in these EGM & AGM matters.

the board might as well get them out and start saying their goodbys they are just prolonging the agony.

They need time to get their stories straight, prepare bullshit excuses about overspending and to magic up some remotely believable financial projections.

why bother what investor in their right mind will back a board member that 40k ticket holders want gone.

it would be suicide for an investor.

The key question is whether Rangers will need to go back to the capital markets for more cash. If that is the case then the current Board have a serious problem and their only solution will be to stump up the cash themselves or try to soldier on through asset sales. We will know the answer to that question when the accounts are released.

My guess is that the McColl/Murray team have a very good idea of what the real state of play is. They have, no-doubt, got Malcolm Murray and Walter Smith onside and I am sure that there are Ibrox insiders who are friendly to their cause. However, from their point of view, it is risky to speculate - even if it is informed speculation - without having actual facts in hand.

A few days ago I postulated that the McColl/Murray team needed to reset their strategy and come up with an alternative management team and Board. From the rumours of a new CEO candidate it sounds like they are doing that. I would not be surprised to see some more names coming forward to flesh out their slate.

Naturally, I have forwarded my CV to the interested parties.
