Having listened to Tom English argue that Dave King is not a 'fit and proper person' till he's blue in the face on more than one episode of Sportsound this past week and having read the article in the OP, I really do think Anchorman is spot on folks.

Even while I was still in the middle of reading the article in the OP I instantly thought that English was mixing in his own personal opinion on Dave King and having a real sly dig at him in amongst the comfort zone of a made up interview ripping the piss out of the Easdales and Jack Irvine.

Btw, English really doesn't seem to want to shut up about Dave King's previous tax issues in South Africa and Britney has been the same recently. That pair and certain other pals of theirs in the media appear to be peddling the same party line on the Dave King subject as the yahoos saying he's not fit and proper etc. It's got 'yahoos trying to influence public opinion and the SFA decision makers' written all over it AGAIN.

Aided and abetted by Jack Irvine and the Easdales it must be said.

So you don't think Irvine is laying this anti King stuff on a plate for the likes of English?

Nobody is disputing that I don't think. You can lead a horse to water but you cant make it drink. English is peddling his own agenda as well.

Personally, I am neutral on King. There are pros and cons to his involvement from my perspective.

But, if you look at it from the perspective of the anti-Rangers faction in Scotland, King's reappearance on the scene, unencumbered by his South African tax issues, has got to be bad news.

Here is a guy with some serious personal wealth and who has already splashed £20 million on Rangers. He is clearly very capable when it comes to running businesses and is clearly willing to splash some more of his wealth on Rangers.

And if your intent is to keep Rangers neutered then a Dave King is the last person you want to see appearing over the horizon.
