Rangers 3 - 1 Dunfermline (Jig 70 pen, Daly 77, Mohnsi 90)

Methinks the first game was pencilled in for a TV live broadcast? Once it was postponed, the SPFL also included the rearranged match on a live broadcasting schedule, ere noting that once again it fell on a CL evening. Hence no live TV for this top of the table encounter.

Now, tonight also sees Sunderland take on Southampton in the Englishe League Cup. For some reason, there still is a live screening listed for 19.45 BT for a Danish channel. It would be interesting to note whether the game is actually on screen while the CL games are being played.

On a sidenote ... and I'm sure not being paranoid about it ... Rangers were asked to play Airdrieonians in the cup a day earlier, as it would have clashed with the Yahoos game. There was no reason not to put it back to Sunday, of course. No live screening (which you would expect for a pre-arranged game). It did put us on a disadvantage in two cup games though (since they were played in quick succession) and most likely with regards to crowd numbers for the Friday game too. Now, we play a game (AFAIK) originally pencilled in for live screening on a night that precludes live coverage, thus stopping people watching Rangers again. Once you think about it, it does make you wonder.

But wasn't it a Rangers call due to international call ups to cancel the original game or it would have been on TV?

The young players of Dunfermline will crumble under the Rangers support. Sure their young legs will last for about 50/60 minutes, but our experience and skill should see the pars fall to at least 5-0. We shouldn't be giving teams a level respect they don't deserve.
