The Top 101 youngsters in world football: Don Balon list 2013

Recommended Posts

We have a long history of wasting players out of position and at Macleod's age, what he needs is a run of games in his natural position to enhance his development, not hinder it. If you play young players in the wrong position they'll become a Christian Daily or Phil Neville type player as opposed to one of genuine quality.

Our short sighted approach to player selection was never more evident than when Shota Arveladze was ruined on the left wing, then went to Holland and scored 48 goals in the next 2 seasons...

It is an absolute disgrace that this idiot is allowed near so many promising kids. Should have been sacked long ago. A constant underachiever.

In what way is he an underachiever? Stark seems to be well thought of as a coach.

Well thought of by whom? His blazer clique?

Look at his overall results since taking over our countries future stars. Nothing short of abysmal. Every time we get a result or two away from qualifying or indeed any sort of success, he blows it with being over cautious when if he had the ability to get better results earlier in campaigns we wouldn't need to hang on for one last result to make or break those campaigns. He is tactically clueless and overall just a dreadful football manager. He also shows favouritism to a certain type of Scottish footballer none more so than in his team selection for the vital match against Iceland at Easter Rd a few years back. He has done next to nothing to provide players for the senior team. He has failed to qualify for the last 3 tournaments and is on the verge or ruining another campaign. That will be 4 failures on the bounce.

Stark is a blazer, a footballing dinosaur. He is part of the SFAs jobs for the boys clique.

Last 7 matches, 2 wins(Home to Slovakia and Luxembourg), 1 draw and 4 defeats. The defeats included an aggregate 10-0 pumping by Holland and England. The other defeats coming against Georgia and Austria.

the dutch have a long history of improving players by playing them all over the park.

specifically ajax

A bit off topic but I was speaking to an Ajax supporter yesterday and he told me that the Ajax support hate Celtic. He said that has been so for years and not just because of last week. In fact the trouble last week probably started because of the hate for them.
