Apologies if this has been done to death elsewhere but I haven't noticed any particular complaint about Celtic postponing their fixture this week to play in a lucrative friendly tournament. Has sporting integrity now gone out the window? Is it now ok to move fixtures around to suit the desires of one club? Is the top league now being run exclusively for the financial benefit of one club?

All rhetorical questions of course but the answer to the next one is less obvious, at least to me anyway. Why does nobody seem to object to anything they do now?

We should have hit them with all guns blazing about their un-postponable trip to Japan in 2008, which was one of the main reasons about them not pro-longing the season.

AFAIK, all SPFL teams agreed to such a break, no-one could do it apart from the Scum though. I would assume it is "technically sound".

I don't know whether it it is one rule or two rules but the other clubs have to look at why they allowed the rule changes at all.

The first one at the beginning of the season was obviously established to allow Celtic to play friendlies and St Mirren got shafted by it twice, although it is now scheduled for Sunday 2 February when neither club is invloved in the LC Semis.

The current one is a farce. The new rule is there to allow clubs to create their own winter break not to allow them to go and play friendlies in Turkey. They shouldn't be allowed to do both; but it's up to the other clubs to make and enforce the rules.

None of the club chairmen have the balls to stand up to Liewell. celt@c basically run Scottish football now and can do as they please.

Do they ever wonder why no one will sponsor the SPFL ? What company CEO would want his/her company associated with Scottish Football ?

CELTIC'S winter break plans have been put on hold after their flight to Turkey was cancelled.

Neil Lennon and his squad were due to fly out to Antalya this afternoon but there was a problem with the charter plane that was to take them to the coastal resort.

A Celtic spokesperson said: "Unfortunately there was a problem with the incoming chartered aircraft, however we are looking to reschedule our departure for tomorrow."

Celtic took up the option to postpone their league fixture with Kilmarnock on Saturday in order to head for some warm-weather training.

They are also due to take part in the Turkish Airlines Antalya Winter Cup, where they are scheduled to play Trabzonspor on Thursday evening before facing either Ajax or Galatasaray at the weekend.

You would have thought that Turkish Airlines would have sent their best plane for them; but perhaps that was the problem?

Not the best publicity for Turkish either way.

If Celtic chartered from someone else WHY didn't they use Turkish; if they DID and the plane went technical, that would be a rather big whoops I'd say.
