Good Luck to the Youths in the Youth Cup quarter final at Ibrox today

Rangers U20 team v Dunfermline: Kelly; Pascazio, Halkett, Gasparotto, Sinnamon; Burrows, Telfer, Dykes, Gibson, Stoney; Gallagher.

Subs: McCrorie (gk), Roberts, Hammill, Ogen and Hardie.

That's a very strong team despite having a right back at left back and is that Burrows the striker being deployed on the right of midfield?

Pars Will Be Wounded

CHARLIE TELFER has warned Rangers not to take victory for granted against Dunfermline in the SFA Youth Cup today despite a 100 per cent record against them this season.

Despite poor weather overnight and a reasonable amount of rain, the fixture scheduled for this afternoon remains on as things stand.

The Light Blues will face their opponents from Fife at Ibrox at 1pm, with admission costing only £5 for adults and £1 for kids.

The Pars sit fourth from bottom in the 16-team SPFL Under-20 League at the moment having won only six of their 20 games in that competition so far.

They’ve also been beaten twice by Gers – who currently sit second just a point off the summit – over the last few months.

Both encounters were tight though and Telfer admits Athletic had good reason to feel they could have taken more from each fixture.

The midfielder feels that will drive the visitors on in Govan and is keen to ensure Gordon Durie’s youngsters are ready for that.

Telfer said: “They’re a difficult side and they’ve given us two difficult games. We won 5-4 at Dumbarton then 2-0 up there but that hasn’t been fair on them.

“They’ll definitely be hurting after those two results and things will be a bit more even as we’ve got a few injuries at the moment.

“We’ll just need to keep working hard the way we have been lately and the good thing is the boys who have come have done well in the positions they’ll filled.

“We’re not worried about that. We’ll need to play at our best though and work as hard as we can to make sure we win.”

Rangers are favourites to win the SFA Youth Cup and if they do go on to claim the trophy, it’ll be the first time they’ve done that in six years.

In that respect, this weekend’s quarter-final is a key game in the team’s campaign and Telfer is determined to go all the way.

He added: “It would be great for us to do that. The league is the most important thing but this is a big priority for us as well.

“We’re really focused on trying to win the cup. A few of the bigger sides are out so this is our best opportunity in a while to do that.

“It’s the club’s best chance in a few years so if we can play the way we can, hopefully we can go on to be successful.”
