Hard to see what he's making a fuss about.

He says “We never said we’d take the initial allocation of 8000. We said sell the Broomloan Stand first then move on from there – we never said that’s all we wanted.

They say “Notwithstanding the present allocation of 8012 – as requested by the club – Dundee United retain first option on the Govan West corner and a section of the Front and Rear, an additional 3051 seats.

What's the difference?

Doubt I'll ever believe anything the SFA say again but fact is Utd don't sell many tickets for any game - home, away, league or cup.

Thompson just looks like a clown with his irresponsible comments.

Is the gate money split 50-50 for semi finals? If so that could be the reason he is taking 8012 as he knows to get a higher pay day it will have to be Rangers fans who buy the remaining tickets.

DUNDEE United chairman Stephen Thompson last night went to war with the SFA and accused them of getting their facts wrong.

Thompson swears the ruling body was “economical with the truth” in their account of ticket plans for the Scottish Cup semi-final against Rangers at Ibrox on April 12.

In a statement the SFA insisted United were offered 11,063 tickets but turned them down in favour of being allocated the 8012-seat Broomloan Road Stand “in order to ensure maximum attendance”.

But last night Thompson said: “The SFA statement is not factually correct. That’s a pretty serious thing to say but it’s what we believe. We are unhappy with this statement because it’s not our understanding of what took place. It is economical with the truth.

I'm lost Thompson. Is it what you believe or is it fact? The two are not mutually exclusive. His words are a mess.

It's all getting really weird with nobody in the press able to say anything remotely intelligent.

If DU fans are so desperate to see their team they have about 7k empty seats at Tannadice to take up every second week. If they want to see their club play at Celtic Park they can easily get 25k tickets for that. It seems they're not interested in DU, just Rangers. We're the only team in Scotland to regularly fill out a stadium.

There have only been two games so far that are massively oversubscribed and they both involve Rangers (Ramsdens final and SC semi).
