Gerry McCulloch -- ebt's undoubtedly gave sporting advantage

Recommended Posts

Lord Nimmo Smith:

"Rangers FC did not gain any unfair competitive

advantage from the contraventions of the SPL Rules

in failing to make proper disclosure of the side-letter

arrangements, nor did the non-disclosure have the

effect that any of the registered players were

ineligible to play, and for this and other reasons no

sporting sanction or penalty should be imposed upon

Rangers FC."

So, decisions, decisions.

Whether to trust the legal opinion of the Rt Hon Lord Nimmo Smith, Senator of the College of Justice or the legal opinion of Gerry McCulloch, former reporter on Skoosh and presenter on Bid TV.

I'll have to toss a coin on this one guys, and I'll go for Lord Nimmo Smith.

*** FUN GERSNET COMPETITION!!! ***

Here's a scene for you to solve, readers! using your skill and judgement, decide which scenario would have been more likely.

The Blue Room, Ibrox. David Murray is counting his money. Enter a financial accountant type.

Accountant Type: Bad news, Sir David - those EBT's have been found to be horribly immoral and we have to stop using them.

David Murray: Oh no! How will I sign all those players we keep beating celtc with now???

Here's your choices, chums: Does Dave

(a) accept the tax rules, fail to sign players and watch celtc romp to the title?

(b) borrow more money from the bank, sign the players anyway and keep winning titles?

Given Sir Dave's history of borrowing, you might think the answer obvious! But hold on - maybe old Dave was a financial genius all along, and not the profligate borrower media types have been slating him as for the last five years! But no cheating - answer ©, that it's all a load of contradictory bullshit with zero intellectual justification spouted by half wits who wouldn't know an EBT from an SPTE season ticket has already been used in last year's exciting Win a day Out To See The Huns Get Skelped by A Judge Competition, which as we know had to be called off at the last minute.
