Maybe that's why you can accept Rangers as it is - because you accept whatever regime comes along like you accept whatever government is elected.

 

Britain is a civilised and mostly enlightened country, and democracy has played a significant role in making it what it is.

 

Rangers is an unenlightened club that thinks it's a business when really it's a social and sporting gathering. It is about as enlightened as a rotten borough.

 

It is in urgent need of reform.

Alright, fair enough. But they could just have issued a pdf with that great line 'Give us the money or the seat gets it!' and some sort of mocked up photo - a bit of humour, mockery and effect.

To a lot of people, it probably is new. This King initiative is receiving blanket coverage in the papers. It will be reaching places that football forums rarely do.

 

If it does nothing else but put people on their guard about the way the club is run, it will have achieved something.

There's always been a deadline for ST renewals for existing ST holders. If that deadline passes by, the STs might be sold to anyone interested. There is no new or board ultimatum involved.

 

The bad thing is, for all their good intentions, the way certain parties act will sure lead to more strife rather than useful debate and co-operation.

It is - after all - a statement at the club's HP and one expects all info on there, or at least as much as there is to know. And at ST renewal time, we are bound to hear and read all over the place, time and again.

btw this is quite a change from normal. in the past i have been given an extra two months to get my same seat and several phone calls to confirm that.

 

are they doing this out of spite? or is it a hollow threat?
