Dont know if this has been covered or not , but who exactly is paying for this tour , we are taking a playing squad of 25 plus management and backroom teams , there must be the bulk of 40 plus in the party , yet we are playing basically junior teams by Scottish standards , so given we are struggling financially , the question is who's footing the bill for this little extravaganza

Do we think that the board is going to willingly run us into ground by signing players and going on US tours et al? No-one knows, but IMHO this is rather unlikely. So one way or another they will have budgeted for this, the tour is probably a sponsored one. We'll play low-key teams, but people there will get to see us, the US Bears will get to see us and our "Phoenix" story might even touch the odd possible US investor's / rich man's heart. IMHO, this is being done for more than just one prupose.

No idea if it's sponsored or not, but it won't be a cheap trip for that number of people. You could be looking at around a couple of hundred grand all-in since the one-way flights out to LA alone will be 40 to 50 grand.

According to posters on previous threads on Follow Follow, the hosts are paying for everything

Makes sense. The Clubs will probably still make a few quid on ticket sales even after paying our expenses.

... which was, AFAIK, an assumption. Do you reckon that these US farm teams have that great a purse or financial backing to do this? Will we attract 20 to 30k at reasonable prices for friendlies?* Do we pay the expenses if Fulham or e.g. a German team visit Ibrox for a friendly? Not knowing, just asking.

*That said, who knows who beyond the host team is also involved in such games ...
