I note that some folk have an intimate knowledge of e.g. the Gunners' supporters' mindset. Maybe (and that is a big MAYBE) you are right, I for one would expect them to come in their thousands still, if only to see their new stars in action.

"If only to see their new stars in action"

You got that bit right.

That's how big a draw we are to Arsenal fans these days.

Buckie are happy to play us, but Bayern?

I don't think so.

And that is a big misconception IMHO. Because some folk - and no disrespect whatsoever - view the world from a utterly "Rangers in their current state" way, that does not hold true for the rest of the world. For World Football does not (surprise surprise) rotate around Rangers FC. Look at the advert for that first US game. The admin event is just one episode in a long list that also includes CL campaigns and a tradition that reaches back till the 19th century. As in: shit happens, but people move on. They always do, all over the world. Rangers is NOT in everyone's mind because they suffered admin, but because they belong to the great names of European football. And I for one would actually think that Bayern would not hesitate being invited to a friendly against us, as they play all kinds of teams (much like Arsenal) in pre-season and have a great tradition playing against us before.

That would be true if ALL Arsenal fans solely come to see their stars. That won't be the case.

If Bayern. Real or Barca were happy to play us, why aren't they?

Why are we playing low grade US sides when we could being hosting football royalty?

Is it because they don't want to visit Ibrox at this time, or is it because our board is so incompetent that it can't arrange fixtures against them?

We can't host pre-season friendlies at this time anyway because of the Commonwealth Games.

some folk seem to miss this small but very important point, plus we are not being recompensed for moving our games like some others cough cough

Do you think we'd have seen an elite club gracing Ibrox even if it had been fully available?

It would seem then that Rangers - possibly under the SDM regime - have not negotiated the situation satisfactorily.

I wonder what the club is being paid - or has been paid - for making Ibrox available.
