buster. 4,808
What they should have been saying all along: nothing. Many people are brought up within boundaries where thay are fed a certain view or take on many things that surround us and that becomes the 'perceived truth'. They emotionally invest in this and many won't let it go, even in the face of blatant evidence to the contrary. With in the Israel/Palestine conflict this is made worse by the propaganda that comes from both sides but in different ways. The Israelis are sophisticated in their methods and have one of the Top Five 'Spinning machines' on the planet. The Palestinians are fanatic's and they base it within their religion. The Truth is often inconvenient. So when this type of 'whistleblowing' occurs regards the 43 Israeli Intelligence officers who are living and breathing what is going on, it is uncomfortable for those who argue to the contrary in favour of Israel.
barca72 440
What's the matter with you two? You think you've found a stick to beat those who disagreed with you? All that's happening here is that the Palestine people are see-sawing between Israeli control and Hamas nutcases. Either way they are only swapping one master for another. A shitty deal for the people any way you look at it.
buster. 4,808
What's the matter with you two? You think you've found a stick to beat those who disagreed with you? All that's happening here is that the Palestine people are see-sawing between Israeli control and Hamas nutcases. Either way they are only swapping one master for another. A shitty deal for the people any way you look at it. Permit me to consider that the word of 43 signatories who are/were directly involved in what they have chosen to come clean about, in what amounts to a whistleblowing letter, outweighs your personal analysis. With that in mind, I'd reverse your initial sentence and ask, not "what is the matter with you" but why haven't you actually addressed the issues within the letter/article ? Let me help you understand or indeed explain a little in the case that you didn't read the article. IMO there are two main points that the letter/article gravitate towards. 1. That it helps illustrate that the present Israeli Government has no real desire for a genuine negotiated peace that would mean compromising what they have already illegally stolen and plan to steal (I refer to land). They are now in a position whereby they can control 'the threat' better than ever, see no need to concede anything and if necessary will do what they have to, to keep the one-sided conflict simmering with occasional Operations that kill thousands. 2. The letter/article shows what the present Israeli government thinks of Palestinian civillians and the natural progression of this attitude is to kill them without batting an eyelid. We don't need to wait to see that this is indeed the case with the ruthless slaughter of thousands a direct result. In short, they seem to have absolutely no respect for them as human beings and their intelligence/military strategies reflect this. The South African state suffered for many years from various types of boycotts that shut them off from the rest of the world. They were relative 'angels' compared to the present Israeli state goverened by the radical right.
