Not exactly a disgrace tbh, but it sounds like it could've been a heavier defeat.

They're not out yet, but even just one away goal for Sociedad in the second leg and it could be cheerio sheep.

A 2-0 loss away is a really difficult one because in essence, you need to score 3 without reply at home to go through. Don't know the stats on that but doubt it happens very often.

They're both out I'd say.

Hate to say it but we'll fare no better than any of the Scottish sides did this week when we're back in Europe unless the quality of player in our first team squad improves dramatically between now & then

As bad as the Scottish teams perform every year UEFA have killed European football with the amount of money in the champions league for the big 8 or 9 teams.

Taking the Cup Winners Cup out now means there is far too much teams in the Europa league and to allow the Champions league clubs to drop into this competition makes it worse.

Even Hull only drew in Slovakia in their first leg.

Is that not a good thing though? A club like Hull with far more money than sense drawing with a tiny team? Is that not part of the attraction of European football?

I like it when the diddy English sides all earning millions a year get horsed in Europe.

I don't care how Hull do but it shows the Premier League is not the greatest standard. But they will still probably go through. But the point is the amount of games just to get into this Europa league is still crazy.

Bring back the Cup Winners Cup.

I reckon we would have had very little chance against Groningen. Also highly doubt we would have beaten them away from home pre-admin under Ally.
