High time Ian we utilised RFFF money to employ professionals to pursue the guilty & for lobby purposes.

It would certainly be a lot more relevant to the original remit/purpose of the RFFF than discussing wild and inappropriate tangents about museums etc, but the club still isn't out of trouble yet, so I'd suggest that it might be prudent to hold fire and not throw the money in the direction of lawyers etc until we're in a safer position.

Then again, there's also timing issues, so if steps need to be taken sooner rather than later, then so be it.

For sure D'art!, or if there is too much hassle in trying to free up the RFFF then start a new fund raising for that sole purpose?

Not sure there is anything new in these "revelations". This report from Daily Record.

CHIEFS planned to strip Gers of five League Cup titles in original plans to punish the club for the use of EBTs.

RANGERS were going to be stripped of FIVE League Cups in the original draft document set up by the SPL to punish the club for the controversial use of EBTs.

MailSport can reveal the Hampden bosses who wanted Rangers to accept the loss of five league titles and four Scottish Cups had also planned to take away five League Cup victories in return for granting the club a place in the First Division.

But itÂ’s understood the stripping of those League Cups was taken off the list of punishments after the SFL refused to enter into such a plea bargain because the Ibrox outfit had not yet been found guilty of wrongdoing over the use of EBTs

Ibrox chief executive Charles Green steadfastly refused to accept any EBT sanctions in return for newco Gers getting the chance to be parachuted into Division One.

And that move never came about anyway as SFL sides instead voted for GreenÂ’s club to start again in the Third Division.

Our sister paper the Daily Record revealed two months ago that Hampden chiefs were planning to strip Gers of the titles and Scottish Cups won in the EBT years.

But the original package of punishments also included the League Cups and would have amounted to Rangers losing 14 honours.

Had the SFL ratified the punishment, Rangers would have been forced to agree to: “The withdrawal from

Rangers FC, RFC and Sevco of the award and status of winner of the League Cup for each of seasons 2001/02, 2002/03, 2004/05, 2007/08, 2009/10 and 2010/11.”

Lord Nimmo Smith has been appointed by the SPL to chair an independent commission into RangersÂ’ use of EBTs and the hearing will begin on November 13.

Green is facing an SFA charge of bringing the game into disrepute after claiming the commission had decided on the punishments before the case was heard.

And many fans may now be convinced that Green had a point when he said the stripping of honours had been on the SPLÂ’s agenda since June.

My understanding of all of this (and I may be wrong) was that as part of the infamous 5 way agreement we were to concede titles & cups in order to be allowed to play in SFL1 after being voted out the SPL

But it never worked out because after being voted out and having to apply for SFL membership the only division we could have gone to was SFL3 following the SFL clubs voting. Is that not what much of these documents are about?

Regan & Doncaster screwed up big time assuming we'd have gone down just one division and both should have been sacked for that alone. The struggle to attract sponsorship seems to be one of the consequences of Rangers demotion to the bottom division

Regards this VB stuff today is there anything in there we didn't know already? Lardass MacKenzie's allegations and the Harper MacLeod connections with Celt*c are well known IMO

I think Rab we need to look at this material from the perspective of "conclusive proof".

We all suspected HM were involved in far more than "low level intelligence gathering" - but if any of us were asked to prove it we may have struggled. Furthermore as can be seen from the e-mails, something again we have not seen before, clearly decisions were being made by unknown persons, outwith the normal course of business ie meetings etc to inflict further damage/punishment on our club.

At the end of the day any new information is welcome especially if it contains verifiable emails and documents not seen before.

However, without a strong club and fanbase such information is unlikely to be used effectively. We have to remember that on Sunday our club had Regan and Doncaster as guests so that suggests a lack of appetite from those running the newco to investigate what happened to the oldco.

All in all, the questions VB are asking in this article are nothing new and they'll never be answered unless we have the correct people asking them and in the correct domain. Without a full public enquiry I doubt we'll ever get such a platform and the events of the last few years will remain shrouded in murky conspiracies.

As an aside, I would be interested to know who is passing VB this info and why they think VB are suitable flag bearers on what remains an emotive subject for many Rangers fans. That's no disrespect to VB who usually do a good job of such stuff but a genuine enquiry into the intentions of those providing the info.

I think the question which now needs asked is just why we got voted out by the SPL chairmen. It can't be for the newco because Hibz did that in 1991under similar circumstances & didn't get demoted

That only leaves the BTC and that is now unravelling. Once it has 'gone away' should our incumbent board not be seeking some sort of financial compensation from either these clubs or the SFA?
