Games Moved For TV

Written by Andrew Dickson

TWO Championship games Rangers are scheduled to play in December have been selected for live television coverage.

The trip to play Queen of the South has been moved forward a day to Friday, December 12 for transmission on BT Sport, with kick-off at 7.45pm.

A fixture with Hibernian in Edinburgh on Saturday, December 27 remains on that date but will now start at 12.15pm rather than the original 3pm kick-off time.

That match will be broadcast by Sky Sports as the Light Blues round off 2014 with a journey along the M8 to the capital.

I am pissed off. I am coming to Scotland next week and there is no f'n game until the day I go home.

The last few years from TV firms has shown a complete disregard towards supporters. BT Sport and Sky could simply map out all televised games for the season ahead giving us a chance to plan out our own season of following Rangers.

Shit like this angers me.

The new involvement of BT Sport seems to have made it considerably worse and apart from the uncertainty for traveling Bears, one of the other galling aspects is that for the past couple of seasons Rangers have been getting peanuts out of the broadcasting deals. Some of the schedule changes must be costing the Club money as well.

Absolutely. Moving Saturday games to Monday night being a prime example of shooting ourselves in the foot. Maybe Ashley prefers TV exposure over large crowds!

Unfortunately, the Club has absolutely no say in the schedule changes. The broadcasters suit themselves while the SFA & SPFL bend over backwards for them for the sake of peanuts in terms of broadcasting revenue and ultimately, clubs and their fans are the only ones who suffer.
