Always the direct and polite one, are we not?

King wasn't "watching on" on either, nor Letham. But effectively they did nothing or were not allowed / able to do anything that had any consequence, which is the point.

First you say they were watching on, then when pulled up on it, you say that they weren't watching on.

Bizarre behaviour, and not for the first time.

King must have had chance to buy Hargreave Hale shares which would have given him a solid, credible base to build from.

Not taking that gave Ashley the upper-hand for sure.

We don't know for sure what King spent (if anything) on buying Shares, but on the surface it looks like the old adage can be used here for King attempts . "For want of a nail the horse was lost, for want of a horse a Kingdom was lost"

How do we know if Dave King actually did have the chance to buy the Hargreave shares?

We don't but given they were supposedly in his/Murray's camp, you'd imagine they were given the opportunity.

At the very least, they should have been aware of other bids.

I've got no idea mate, but if they were given the opportunity to buy those shares and chose not to, then they must have had a good reason.

The significance of those shares going to Ashley obviously played a part in how things have unfolded, but how big a difference is unclear.

It was only 5% and that 5% holding will probably only be a 2.5% holding very shortly.

Personally, I think we've been stitched-up again and that Ashley has been planning these moves for ages.

If that's the case, then those Hargeave shares wouldn't have stopped Ashley getting his way somehow.

The HH holding would have given King the ability to make his own resolutions and stopped Ashley from making his.

It was a key step in terms of this year's AGM dance.

One thing is for sure, Ashley is the man leading....

Ashley would have gotten his way one way or another because we've no doubt been stitched-up again.

Laxey have played a key part in this too because some of the reports have been saying that Crighton switched sides at the last minute.

Maybe so but on the face of it King has been playing the game from a weak position while allowing Ashley to strengthen his.

Laxey's position isn't a surprise - I've said for weeks they'll vote differently depending on what way the wind is blowing.
