Alloa chairman confirms game will go ahead next week

Recommended Posts

So what on earth is the excuse for us cancelling the previous ones going to be now? I give up.

Interesting indeed with more players missing than there was for the last call off.. Wonder what the difference is? Oh yes, this one is at home and there is a new focus in the boardroom. Like COwdenbeath had to suffer, we'd have been near 6 weeks without a home game. "To be fair" to COwden though, Ally assure d it it was the right thing to do to them "to be fair".

After previous comments, someone must have pointed out the need for cash.

Yes, playing this Home match midweek would reduce revenue significantly at a time when we have cashflow problems.

No doubt about it.

With the manager stating that he has no problem with the decision. Looks like he's eventually had his wings clipped.

Decision makes sense for a business with cashflow problems.

As you infer, at the sametime it does send out a message.

No matter who made the decision, at least for once it's the right decision for both the Club & fans!

No quibbles with that, Zappa, but if McCoist has no problem with playing the game, why was he prepared to screw the fans over on the previous occasions?

No idea, but if I was guessing I'd say it would've been for multiple reasons.

Firstly, with our players previously being overlooked for call-ups it could have been a case of making the point that we're calling off our game for international call-ups anyway, so if there were any injuries in the national camp, then our fit players were all available if needed.

Secondly, there's the obvious point of Ally just doing it out of principal due to wanting to have his full squad available for every game.

Maybe there was also an element of just flicking the SFA a vicky?

Anyway, it's good to see it being nipped in the bud because postponing weekend home matches is bad for the Club financially and a nightmare for fans who can't make it to rearranged fixtures midweek.

maybe not..

Would Ally or anyone else relish going into the Hearts game more than 4 behind albeit with a game in hand.

I see Hearts are asking that their under 21's be available to fulfil their fixture
