Our squad is surely capable of beating Alloa at Ibrox but if we can't beat them at home without Macleod there is something very amiss.

Postponing the game costs the Club thousands in lost income and seriously inconveniences our fans. If we play on Saturday afternoon and beat Alloa then Hearts will be put under a bit of pressure away at Falkirk on Saturday evening.

and if we lose ally will blame the board for robbing him of our best player.

Macleod will definitely be a big loss to our squad on Saturday, there's no doubt about it because he's got talent and awareness that some of the other players in our team weren't blessed with and it makes him a key player.

It's nothing new either because over the past couple of seasons we've generally played worse without the lad when he was injured or sick.

That said, we have a strong squad and should be able to cope no problem in his absence.

Perhaps they should exchange roles and see if it improves our lot, Somers for the dugout and McCoist for the boardroom ?

I think McCoist knows that a credit facility isn't an investment, unlike Somers.

That's not what he said in his interview last week.

SCOTLAND boss Gordon Strachan will consider releasing Lewis Macleod from international duty if he receives a request to do so from Ally McCoist.

Macleod has been called for the first time as a result of his outstanding performances for the Gers this season. But the 20-year-old midfielder is unlikely to feature in the Euro 2016 qualifier with the Republic of Ireland at Celtic Park on Friday night.

And Gers gaffer McCoist had spoken of the possibility of asking for the player to be released for the SPFL Championship match with Alloa at Ibrox on Saturday.

The Light Blues board has decided that the game against the Wasps will go ahead - even though McCoist has three players away with their countries and is allowed to call it off. Strachan is well covered for midfielders for the Group D match with Ireland and is open to the possibility of letting Macleod go if McCoist asks for him to be made available.

This should be a fairly simple solution. If Strachan decides to play Lewis, even as a last minute sub, on Friday night at the piggery, then he stays with the squad. If Lewis gets no game time at all, then he should be released on Saturday morning to play for us, and return to Scotland on Saturday night to prepare for the England game. I doubt the squad will be doing much on the Saturday anyway, so he shouldnt be missing out on much if he leaves for a few hours to bale us out.

McLeod is about the only player in our team worth going to watch at the moment, and I will be bitterly disappointed if he misses out for us on Saturday to simply go training with the National squad and gets no game time. That we win the game on Saturday should not be in doubt, that we have anyone else capable of entertaining those in attendance like McLeod has been recently is much harder to fathom.
