Dundee United seem to have a magnetic hold on Rangers in Scottish Cup draws in recent years.

Could do with avoiding them this year.

Falkirk are the other team that we are often paired with and I'd be happy with the Bairns.

2009

LC: Falkirk (N) 3-0 W

SC: Falkirk (N) 1-0 W

2010

SC: Dundee Utd (H) 3-3 D

SC: Dundee Utd (A) 1-0 L

2011

LC: Falkirk (A) 3-2 L

2012

SC: Dundee Utd (H) 0-2 L

CC: Falkirk (A) 0-1 W

LC: Falkirk (H) 3-0 W

2013

SC: Dundee Utd (A) 3-0 L

2014

SC: Falkirk (A) 0-2 W

LC: Falkirk (A) 1-3 W

SC: Dundee Utd (N*) 1-3 L

* semi-final played at a 'neutral' Ibrox.

The preferences for cup draws are one of the few things that haven't changed in Scottish football since our demise.

Give us a lower league team at home, and give "them" the hardest possible away draw.

The only thing that has changed is the reasoning. It is now because I really dont want them to win the treble, whereas it used to be to give us the best chance to win the treble.

5th Round

Rangers v Raith Rovers

Spartans v Berwick Rangers or Albion Rovers

Partick Thistle v St Mirren or Inverness CT

Stranraer or Dunfermline Athletic v Dundee United

Falkirk v Annan Athletic or Brechin City

Hibernian v Arbroath

Dundee v Celtic

Queen of the South v St Johnstone

Well, a good draw for us, at home too. Another Premiership team will go out as well, while neither the Arabs nor the Perth Saints will relish their away ties. And I guess the friendly people of Dundee will welcome the grey-green Horde with open arms, after the latter ran amok in their stands not so long ago.
