Something like that, but some key full-time staff who've been with the Club for years have been made redundant, so a non-exec who gets paid circa £40k pa + expenses for a attending a couple of board meetings and match days a month could easily be deemed an unnecessary expense if Ashley's men are taking a machete to the Club's staffing costs.

I doubt if Ashley and his men care too much about Laxey's interests when they clearly only care about Ashley's interests.

 

Until the news of the cancelled staff Xmas party broke we probably wouldn't have imagined their cost-cutting would go that far either.
