Ashley giving the tims a laugh at our expense (pun intended) - LC SF tee shirt !!

Recommended Posts

Perhaps I was not clear enough, I was not particularly speaking about this occasion, but the general way of utilizing "special occasions" more.

BTW, they sure sit on riches compared to us, but for all the sneering, do you expect that they do not look at ways increasing their income?

Oh, come on - commemorative merchandise isn't a new thing. And, all things considered the right item at the right time may well make the club (or at least Sports Direct) a fair bit of cash. And, there's no issue with the club (if Sports Direct ever decide to pay us a dividend) making money - Nick Peel did a fine job a while back.

However, this t-shirt is a joke at our expense. Nothing more, nothing less.

I was not exactly speaking about this t-shirt, but the idea in general and how it is done in other sports. hence, no wonder SD is trying to implant this here for "a special occasion".

You're completely missing the point.

Commemorative merchandise is not a new thing.

As such, there's no excuse for Sports Direct misjudging their market on this.

Just had a quick look at their shop and in fairness, they DO sell some really tacky cheap tat like blow up chairs and digital watches that look like they fell out a £1 Xmas cracker, so you might have a point dB. They might look at this tacky cheap tat League Cup Semi Final t-shirt from Sports Direct and think to themselves that they're missing a trick!

Eh, you were.

Are we the laughing stock over in Yahooland because of that shirt? With the support no doubt. Yet, rest assured, people in their PR and commercial department will think: why didn't we come up with this idea?!
