In your explanation of fans behaviour there is no room for 45000 after relegation to the third division. Passion is real and can be ignited by the smallest spark. Decisions are not made rationally and calmly in the real world if that was so ,we would not be human. As for they do not support, they clearly do.18000 or so turn up but how many paid for tickets? How many will continue to pay for tickets? All it would take is one decent transfer market expenditure and that figure would rise.The starting of a scouting network would be enough to spark some to life again. Fans are fickle but at the end of the day they will jump for any carrot when their passions are invoked. Another truism is the fans will not continue to support the current level and decay will continue but that will be the main thing Llambias took from yesterday.That is what he is there to decide what it would take to fool the fans. He will make changes for the better to both team and infrastructure, it would be extremely naive to believe other wise. That's not to say he is therefore good for us. He is not. But you can bet your last dollar he will do enough to pull the wool over enough eyes to secure Ashley's wants. That will be the real fight, now when everyone's eyes are open. now is our best chance of getting them out quick. It would be crass stupidity to think Ashley is not an intelligent man, greedy yes, pond scum most likely, out for his own wants at the detriment of ours, most definitely, stupid enough to not to realise the line to not cross, not likely. Would we be better with him gone ,definitely. will he do enough to insure the club survives for him to achieve his goals ,yup. The fight against Ashley will be far longer than you seem to expect. Death of the club is not on the cards and anyone with the intelligence to amount billions will see how to achieve that. He might be here for the long haul but even then he will be gone one day. With Ashley now, I see him as one of the eponymous creatures in Alien that attaches itself to the Kane's face, rendering him unconscious. When the crew try to remove the creature it uses it's tail (or whatever) to cut the oxygen from its prey and so shows it will kill their crew-mate if threatened itself. The scariest part is that the creature eventually leaves Kane and he seems fine and well for a while - until we shockingly find out what legacy it has left behind gestating in his body... We queued for hours for season tickets, we marched on Hampden. Did those people not fight? We just weren't equipped to deal with corporate liars and conmen. We were the victims of a fraud when Whyte took over, and it's been a stitch up since then. What would you have had us do? I think it's about opening your eyes, engaging the thought process and seeing what is in front of you. After that, everyone can make up their own minds. Blind loyalty will be exploited for corporate interests. Ashely isn't for selling elaborate products at the top end. He is about low-cost, low quality products sold at the bottom end. The current economy throughout Europe will lend itself to this strategy. To secure the club - forever - we have to own it. How many wanted fan ownership at Rangers? It was much easier to wish and hope for a sugar daddy - and we have paid a colossal price for our negligence.
