McLeod transfer fee....

Recommended Posts

The money won't be spare, it'll be needed to keep the lights on in January.

Most probably right....however, by getting McCoist's wage off the monthly bill, that will free up a sizeable amount of cash (approx £65k per month for Ally alone (Pre-tax).

I can see where you're coming from, but if they're going to use any money brought in from the sale of Macleod to hand out pay-offs, then I'm not convinced they'd target McCoist and his 12 month notice when they could just continue to make other staff redundancies on the cheap and cut the same amount of money (or more) from the monthly bills.

Then there's the players who are out of contract at the end of the season and only due another 5 months wages. It might be better to target them with pay-off deals than McCoist because more money could probably be cut from the monthly bills for less outlay.

Either way, it looks almost certain that more players than just Macleod will be sold or moved on where possible while they continue to carve up the staffing costs.

you're probably right but it just shows the fucked up thinking at the club. if they used it to pay off the ally sideshow and used the freed up salary to get a decent guy in , an upturn in our form and results could easily see increased gates again (lets face it not all the stay aways are because of the board alone), that would be cash coming in that currently is not. but it appears they don't need fans cash anymore!!!

That's the worrying thing because at a time when they should be going all out to get the fans back through the turnstiles, they appear to be doing the opposite.

Promoting Kenny McDowall to manager & the Jigmeister to player coach were not popular calls to be making and selling Macleod will be unpopular too.

I don't know what the folk running the Club's plan is, but it sure as shit doesn't involve listening to or pleasing the disgruntled and disenfranchised fans.

Wouldn't be surprised if we end up getting nothing near £1 million for McLeod. Every man and his dog knows we're desperate for cash and anyone who thinks this current shower know anything about driving a hard bargain (except for themselves) is deluded. We'll end up getting screwed again.....
