self aggrandised "captain of Industry" showing us all the way

I'm sure that his personal wealth will still pointing in the right direction. His ego may have taken a bit of a pummelling, but his bank balance and the trappings of wealth that surround him will have soothed the pain.

That level of debt would have been fine if it was long term, but financing property purchases with short term debt was crazy (goes back to 26th of Foot's claims that SDM was a major gambler like his dad) and that was the downfall of MIH.

Why they got something so basic wrong is beyond me.

It is incredibly arrogant for him to have assumed that he could generate the cashflow to service long term assets with short term debt. That is worse than gambling, it is Russian roulette - especially on property. Makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. Did he seriously think he could service those assets short term with the cashflow ? Bonkers.
