Mohsni plays down bench gesture

Tunisia defender Bilel Mohsni has moved to dispel rumours of discontent after he left the bench during his side's 1-1 draw with Cape Verde on Sunday.

Mohsni was unhappy at being omitted from the starting line-up for the Africa Cup of Nations Group B clash at Estadio Manuel Enguru and returned to the dressing room before the final whistle.

Reports began to circulate that the 27-year-old wanted to leave Georges Leekens' squad and return to Scotland, where he plies his trade with Rangers.

It was even claimed that Mohsni had phoned his mother to inform her of his intentions to depart Equatorial Guinea.

However, the Gers man insists there was nothing untoward about his actions, saying: "It was not addressed to anyone but it was a spontaneous decision. It is important not to interpret the gesture negatively."

Mohsni also rubbished claims he was unsettled in the squad, adding: "The atmosphere within the team is very good."

Aye, so a pretty minor incident really, but possibly another example of his lack of professionalism?

Deep down there's a pretty good footballer there.if he could "screw the bobbin" I wouldn't mind seeing what he

Could do in mid-field,or even up front.

For the scum game we are going to need some bite,so if not him maybe McCulloch has to move up there.

what we have in mid-field right now will be totally over run.

What qualities does he have? The only places the likes of him and McCulloch need to go are as far away from Ibrox as possible.

His eye for a forward pass on the deck can be really good at times, but he just isn't mobile enough to play in our midfield.

He could maybe do a job up front if we're ever short of slow and immobile strikers though.

Do we not have slow and immobile strikers in abundance?
