Proscribed as not only sectarian but also racist since it contains the lyrics “Why Don’t You Go Home?” What is sectarian about Why don't you go home, why don't you go home, the famines over,why don't you go home? Can anyone point out a sectarian reference in it? As for racist, it's being sung to and about Scots who pretend their Irish. is it therefore racist against Scots? It's satire, and as the Government's own website says, the Offensive Behaviour at Football and Threatening Communications (Scotland) Act 2012 "will not criminalise jokes and satire about religion or non-religious belief." 0 Quote Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

It's not a subject that should be treated with any amount of celebration and those who sing it end up looking bad to anyone else.
