The Delahunt Solution (+ Rangers likely to escape action over sectarian chanting)

I thought I would share Radio Snyde's Objective Host of ra Show, Jim Delahunt's latest words of wisdom with fellow Gersnetters.

 

After taking calls on another bout of sectarian singing by our on-message fellow Bears, Jim was impatient with Nuremberg Hugh's soliloquy and decided to grip the situation, "the Rangers Chairman, David Somers must make a statement on events at Stark Park". The Shugster correctly points out that Somers would not understand the subject matter. Undeterred, a strident Jim counters, "the Easdale brothers are steeped in both Rangers and west of Scotland culture, they should be making a statement on the matter, tonight".

 

Who is more out of touch with the sensitivities of the Rangers support; the current Board or Jim(the thruster)Delahunt?

Hah, he seems to be under the impression... or at least trying to look like he is... that the current board give any kind of damn about the footballing side of the club and our fans.

We must between us, the club and the support. eradicate songs, or lyrics in songs that are getting us bad press. Then Unite to combat the anti-Rangers agenda and propaganda in the media and emanating from the club's enemies.

 

One idea was to have know and respected Bears voluntary (not paid stewarding) going to games with the support to Marshal and instruct them on what is and what's not acceptable. A supporter-club liaisons attendants travelling with the support would have some influence imo.

Free speech does not exist here and it has not existed for some time.

 

Selective free speech exists in this country though. You can call Rangers and its supporters anything you like and expect no retribution. But when it's Rangers supporters then thats a different matter altogether isnt it?
