'Even Jose Mourinho would have struggled at Rangers': Kris Boyd

Recommended Posts

Mourinho works with excellent players bought for extraordinary cash at extraordinary clubs (Porto, Chelsea, Inter, Real, Chelsea). You'd get a decent measure of him right now if you place him at Watford, Kaiserslautern, or Kilmarnock - with the player material they have to offer.

IMHO, Boyd knows exactly that he is not up for being a Rangers player right now and essentially says so. While one can always point out his fitness levels and lack of goals, football teams are made up of 11 players and more often than not, those behind him were much more aweful than Boyd. A striker missing chances is a sitting duck though.

The reason Mourinho manages elite clubs is obviously because that is his level. He worked his way up from the bottom.
