Celtic chase £2m Ikechi Anya

Recommended Posts

CELTIC have stepped up their efforts to land £2m-rated Scotland winger Ikechi Anya.

And it’s understood that Watford are willing to do business for the 27-year-old – who has a year left on his Vicarage Road deal.

Hoops boss Ronny Deila is desperate to bolster his squad for the Champions League campaign.

Anya’s blistering pace and his Scotland form would make him a perfect fit for Deila’s squad.

The Norwegian was keen to bring in Glasgow-born Anya last season but a deal could not be struck.

Now behind-the-scenes moves are going on to take Anya – who is in line to win his 15th Scotland cap in tonight’s Euro 2016 crunch with Ireland – to Celtic Park.

Deila has already landed defender Dedryck Boyata from Manchester City and is looking to beef up his attack.

He may also have to replace Virgil van Dijk if the Dutchman gets his wish to move south.

Supposedly the price wanted is £4m and they're not paying it. Source was a back page of one of the tabs, same one that had Steven Fletcher's £60k wages being the reason he won't sign for them. Nothing to do with the fact that they're shite. :D
