I don't think 12 Dec is that suitable as many people will have work Christmas parties. Also every restaurant will very busy and many have restricted menus.

Many people will have family commitments on 26th Dec and again I don't think it would be that suitable.

As last time it will be possible to get a non Christmas menu on the 12th.

I agree as per the OP about the 26th but wanted to offer the option.

I am revising the poll to include two dates in January 2016.

As a reminder:

Sat 07 Nov 2015 v Alloa Athletic The advantage of this date is that we know it's a Saturday 3.00pm fixture, making it easy to plan; the disadvantage is that it means that would be unlikely to get a restaurant to ourselves for more than a couple of hours, which is an issue in terms of a speaker.

Sat 14 Nov 2015 v Dumbarton Same as above.

Also, I will be away so someone else will need to organise, as it would be no fun organising then not being able to attend.

Sat 12 Dec 2015 v Morton The disadvantage here is that the date and time are not yet confirmed but it does seem unlikely they will be moved and also as above if the date and time are not moved then it is unlikely we will get a restaurant to ourselves for more than a couple of hours, which is an issue in terms of a speaker.

Sat 26 Dec 2015 v Hibernian The Hibs game is the only home match that has been moved in the first half of the season so far but it seems relatively unlikely that it will be moved away from Boxing Day but more likely an early KO. However, a move to the Sunday cannot be rued out. The obvious disadvantage is that if it goes ahead on Boxing Day, then that will be very difficult if not impossible for many folk due to family commitments. The advantage is that if it is an early KO we might get a restaurant to ourselves for the afternoon/early evening and even more so if it is moved to the Sunday.

If we go for either of the December dates then I might need a deputy convener(s) (previous offer by rbr noted with thanks) as I will out of the country from 7 to 29 November, any other volunteers please PM, if you're too embarassed to come forward in public.

Sat 16 Jan 2016 v Livingston Same comments as v Morton on 12 Dec

Sat 30 Jan 2016 v Falkirk Same comments as v Morton on 12 Dec

Unless there's a runaway winner, I'll leave this open till the 12th of September as I'm away on Saturday for 2 weeks. Once we get a result on the date we can think about restaurants, though I don't think that is going to be very difficult.

It would be appreciated if everyone who has attended previous dinners and/or anyone who might consider attending this one, please vote in the poll.
