Transfer Deadline Day: Michael O'Halloran signs until 2020

Recommended Posts

A poster on here recently said that but sorry can't remember who. Wilson was certainly one of the first signings and the groundwork must have been done before the appointment of MW was ratified. He could have rescinded it though. Think we really need to ask why has Wilson become so bad? He looked great with Weir next to him, can't he coach him now?
Yeah contract length wages etc had all been discussed and agreed in principle along with other players like allen, after that Warburton decided when he came in.

RANGERS Football Club is today delighted to confirm the signing of midfielder Harry Forrester from Doncaster Rovers on an initial six-month contract.

Forrester, who turns 25 on Saturday, came through the youth ranks at Watford and Aston Villa, and while he made no senior appearances for either, he gained some experience of what to expect in Scottish football with a loan spell at Kilmarnock in season 2010-11.

He made a total of eight appearances for Killie, the final one of those coming as a substitute in a 3-2 defeat for the Ayrshire side to Walter Smith’s Rangers in November 2010, a match incidentally in which new teammate Kenny Miller scored a hat-trick.

From Villa, Forrester spent time on trial with Ajax before joining Brentford in the summer of 2011 on a two-year deal, where he went on to make 69 appearances in all competitions and scored 11 goals in the process with the most significant of those being a late penalty against Chelsea to earn the Bees an FA Cup fourth round replay in January 2013.

When his contract with the London club expired, Forrester switched to Championship side Doncaster Rovers where he made 66 appearances and again scored 11 goals before making the switch north to sign for Rangers.

The deal will become official when the transfer window opens on Saturday, although it is unlikely international clearance will have been received by then, thus meaning Forrester will have to wait until the Scottish Cup tie with Cowdenbeath on January 10 for a chance to make his debut.

Rangers looking to add quality, says Frank McParland

By Allan Valente

Last Updated: 01/01/16 4:00pm

Head of recruitment Frank McParland explains Rangers' transfer policy and says they plan to be busy in the January transfer window

Rangers' head of recruitment Frank McParland says the club expect to do more business when the January transfer window re-opens.

The Scottish Championship leaders secured the signing of Doncaster winger Harry Forrester on Thursday for an undisclosed fee.

McParland said the club do not need to bring in too many new faces, but revealed that manager Mark Warburton is aiming to strengthen his squad if the right quality is available.

"Hopefully we'll be very busy, whether it is signing players or just doing our job day-to-day, we need to look and need to improve," McParland told Sky Sports News HQ.

"We don't need to do loads because we have got some really good players here so if we can add a little bit I'm sure we will.

"If I like a player, and I know what players the manager and David [Weir, assistant] want as we've worked together very closely, the three of us sit down and we'll look at three or four players, categorise them, put them in order and then that's when we start our work.

"But the three of us normally have to be happy with the players. If one of us isn't happy we normally move on."

Report: Rangers targeting Tom Bradshaw for Ibrox move, Sheffield Wednesday interested

Rangers are reportedly vying with Birmingham City, Brentford, Cardiff City, Preston North End and Sheffield Wednesday for Tom Bradshaw.

According to the Daily Mail, Rangers are looking to sign Walsall goal machine Tom Bradshaw - but face competition from five Championship clubs.

The Gers have been sensational so far this season with 12 wins from 13 games, and much of that has been down to the exceptional goalscoring exploits of Martyn Waghorn in attack.

Yet, with promotion the aim for Rangers this season, manager Mark Warburton is seemingly looking for more attacking options, especially with Kenny Miller advancing in age and question marks over Nicky Clark's role at Ibrox.

Advertising Policy

The Daily Mail are today reporting that Rangers have lined up Walsall sensation Tom Bradshaw for a move to Ibrox, but may have to wait until next summer given the fee Walsall are likely to command for Bradshaw's signature.

The 23-year-old hitman, formerly of Shrewsbury Town, hit 20 goals for the Saddlers last season, and has also bagged nine goals in 20 games this term too as he establishes himself as one of the top strikers in the Football League.

Bradshaw, a former Wales Under-21 international, loves to play on the shoulder of the last defender, and has enough pace to get through on goal, as he has shown in League One on many occasions - and these attributes would no doubt be a great weapon for Warburton and Rangers.

However, it's also stated that five Championship clubs - Birmingham City, Brentford, Cardiff City, Preston North End and Sheffield Wednesday are also interested in signing Bradshaw, and those five clubs may be better positioned to make January bids for the striker than Rangers currently are.

Wednesday may be appealing to Bradshaw considering how the club are developing under Carlos Carvalhal, but with the likes of Lucas Joao, Gary Hooper, Fernando Forestieri, Atdhe Nuhiu and Sergio Bus all vying for roles up front, Bradshaw may prefer a move to a club where he can be guaranteed first-team football, which should give Rangers hope of a deal.

RANGERS boss Mark Warburton will wrap up his second signing of the transfer window with a deal for Polish free agent goalkeeper Maciej Gostomski.

SunSport revealed on December 15 that the 27-year-old was training at Murray Park after Lech Poznan made it clear he could leave on a free at the end of his contract on Hogmanay.

Sources in Poland confirmed Gostomski has impressed Warburton and goalie coach Jim Stewart enough to be offered terms until the summer.

It’s expected he’ll join winger Harry Forrester in putting pen to paper on a deal to beef up the Ibrox squad for the second half of the campaign.

That seems very old

Two months old, as per post 33 on this thread.

Meanwhile ...

Rangers and Celtic are reportedly chasing Falkirk defender Will Vaulks.

According to the Daily Mail, Celtic and Rangers are among a host of clubs pursuing Falkirk's 22-year-old defender Will Vaulks.

Vaulks was born on the Wirral and started his career with local club Tranmere Rovers, but after a loan spell with Workington Town, he was snapped up by Falkirk in 2013.

The centre back, who stands at just 5ft 11in - relatively small for a defender - has impressed since signing for Falkirk, and with 18 months left on his contract, there is interest building in his signature.

The Daily Mail report that Sporting Lisbon are looking to add Vaulks to their squad having swooped on Scottish football back in 2014, having signed Ryan Gauld from Dundee United.

However, it's also stated that Norwich City, Wigan Athletic and Hibernian, as well as Old Firm rivals Celtic and Rangers, are all looking to sign Vaulks.

Rangers only have Dominic Ball on loan from Rangers, and manager Mark Warburton may view Vaulks - who scored the winning goal in Falkirk's recent 2-1 win over Rangers - as a more long-term option in his defence.

Sporting Lisbon are monitoring Falkirk defender Will Vaulks.

The Portuguese side have shown a surprise interest following Vaulks' performances in recent weeks including a match-winning goal in their 2-1 victory over Rangers.

The 22-year-old centre-back started his career at Tranmere before moving to Scotland in 2013.

Norwich, Rangers, Hibernian, Celtic and Wigan have also made checks on Vaulks who has scored six goals this season.

Sporting have history of picking up players from Scotland after signing Ryan Gauld from Dundee United.

Lifted from FF

Osman Sow

Just heard from a mate who is well in the know at hearts that Osman Sow is signing for us next week.

This same guy told me about Danny Wilson / Holt signings before they happened.

Scored a screamer against them but not sure if I think we need him or not. Undecided on this one.
