Rangers are still years away from being a threat to Celtic...

Perfect. The more they underestimate us the quicker we will catch them.

The more important issue is ourselves, forget them.

One of the very main reasons that Rangers haven't really realised their potential over the decades I've been supporting them is IMO the short-term fixation on beating Celtic to X, Y and Z.

It was ironic that Sir Duped actually did something along the right lines (PLG) when he didn't have the cash to fully support it, nor the will to interevne in a timely manner to head off revolt.

“Yes, Rangers are a better team than last season but look at Hearts. They’re eight points behind and Celtic are still a better team than them.

This line, more than any other, shows how stupid Boyd really is.

He is attempting to say Celtic are better than Hearts and Hearts are better than Rangers because...well.....errm.... Hearts finished above Rangers last year. He is conveniently forgetting that Hearts are a different team this year (we took their captain (didn't strengthen us but weakened them) and Holt for starters) and we are a VERY different team this year.

Muppet.

If anything hearts are proof we won't be far away.

I was watching the Spurs game on Sunday and was bored with it, so switched it over to see if ICT could turn over the Tims. They couldn't, but what i did take from the Tims was they have a good mix of styles, with a few good young players, backed by other more seasoned pro's. Plus a few big strong players who are good in the air and can head a ball .

But they are no where near "years in advance", they are a season ahead, maybe two depending in who we recruit should we be promoted. We already play a better passing game, and have players who can score from set pieces. But their seasoned players and others who can score from various patterns in their play, crosses into the box, shots and set plays. gives them a slight advantage atm

If we get a couple strong seasoned pro's in to match them, added to our young enthusiastic work force, plus keep or recruit talented loans, we'll quickly catch them up. Also If our learning curve next season matches this season's learning progress on the pitch, under Warbs and Weir's tutelage. Honestly we'll be right up in their faces, Boyd knows this as does the rest of the mhanky mob, they are just trying to convince themselves otherwise, which is a good sign we have them rattled imo.

So Celtic are out of Europe, having the suspend players in an apparently unhappy club, so what's the boss of a club being run in to the ground supposed to do? That's right, wheel out an ex-player to tell the fans not to worry, Rangers are no threat.

The threat to celtic is themselves. They haven't invested properly, they are the ones buying titles by just buying any player who shows the slightest ability against them. Whilst Rangers fans have been putting money in to the pockets of the clubs in the lower leagues, Celtic have been strangling Scottish football.

Those who want to claim we're the problem are so wrong. Celtic never invested, we have. Wait and see how the scotland team is shaped over the next few years.

Scottish football can change quickly, Celtic are the worst they've been in living memory but we have a long way to go and for the most part have been poor for a while. It will be interesting to see what cash we spend next summer, because we're going to need to spend it if we want to get anywhere.

maybe your lifetime. i remember carl muggleton et al
