Warburton to Fulham?

Recommended Posts

Aye but Cathro was assistant manager - it is a very different expectation when you are the head coach, which is what Neville's appointment is. All of the glare is on you, not the assistant - Cathro, to a large degree, would have been under the radar.

I'm surprised that Valencia, given their reputation, have gone with an effectively untried manager.

It's a strange move, but not really. He is inexperienced, but he has links to the owner -- Lim? -- who also owns 50% of Salford City, the club that Nevile co-owns with the rest of the '92 players. There are links there, but you're right: very inexperienced for such a job; the only saving grace is that it's an interim period of 5 months only.

Gutted for MNF: now we only have Carra; who's going to translate?!

Such stories are incorrect and disrespectful to me, to Rangers and to the supposed interested party which in this case is Fulham. Appalling

And then...

Why are such stories are released without any sensible investigation? Rangers fans, Rangers as a club and indeed Fulham deserve better

It sounds like Fulham tested the water and were told by all concerned to do one. I can imagine it would have appealed to him if it had come up in summer but he's too early in the process to leave us just yet. I did have fears about his wife androids nagging him into submission and am relieved they've not been realised.

And Gary Neville to Valencia? How in the name of feck did that happen?

There might be the possibility of some ('toxic'?) spin/interference being run by certain parties to take the heat off of other Rangers related subjects. Chuck & co were experts at doing this.

The only thing I took out of the above...... Gary Neville at Valencia

The once great Valencia are now the play thing on 'super agent' Jorge Mendes, who along with the owner have turned Valencia into a club for bringing players to the attention of larger wealthier clubs, players who just happen to be represented by Jorge Mendes. The list of players Valencia have sold in the last few years is really eye-opening.

It's a disgrace but it's a salutary tale, they got themselves into so much debt that they became easy prey. Sound familiar. If you want to see how powerful Mendes is look into the Bebe transfer to Man Utd, a transfer of £7.4 million. He was playing third division Portugese football just five weeks before Man U bought him. Ferguson had never seen him play. Needless to say he played like a third division player. The transfer stinks and some people made a lot of money.

So yeah, Gary Neville going to manage a club for the very first time in a country he never played in and he can't speak Spanish. Nothing to see here, move along...

Fulham on Rangers boss Mark Warbuton: We have NO interest in making him our next manager

THE English Championship club are on the lookout for a new boss but according to a club spokesman – it won’t be Warbs.

FULHAM have today insisted they have "no interest" in making Mark Warburton their next manager.

The Rangers boss is the bookies’ favourite to take over from Kit Symons, who was axed by the English Championship side last month.

Speculation grew further earlier this afternoon when the second favourite to succeed Symons – Gary Neville – landed the Valencia job, seemingly clearing the way for Warburton to return south.

But the Craven Cottage outfit are adamant they do not want the former Brentford boss.

Radio Station RockSport approached Fulham for a member of their club to go on and speak about Warburton.

But the Cottagers flatly refused, telling the station: "We are reluctant to provide a spokesperson from the club for RockSport’s Talking Football Programme as we have no interest in Mark Warburton and do not wish to add to speculation."
