Barrie McKay - The boy who never gave up

Recommended Posts

Nice article today from John McIntosh... :)

Barrie McKay, without doubt, is the player who has been most improved from the players that remained before Mark Warburton and Davie Weir assumed management control this summer. I must admit I was dubious when McKay returned to the squad/team but there's no doubt he's matured massively since 2012. He's now a very important player for the team and we'd miss him if he was unable to play.

Yes, there's bigger tests ahead for him and others but his performances have been as pleasing as anything else this season so far.

I could never figure why McCoist would play the much less talented Aird regularly, but was prepared to let McKay go on loan for long spells.

I assumed he had attitude or off-field issues.

Glad to see the lad turn things around.

Or perhaps McCoist was just a very poor manager.

Hope he doesn't follow the trend of young Scottish talent who chased the quick buck down south to the detriment of their career progress.

It's clear there was an attitude problem previously at Auchenhowie but it's not clear cut as to whose attitude was the biggest problem.
