The Summer Transfer Rumour Round-up Thread

If one of the important aspects of squad management is 'togetherness' then I wouldn't want to take the chance.

If he wasn't playing and not getting paid much, I doubt his presence would be positive.

That is why I said fit to play.

Clint Hill adds a reasonable physical presence, professional attitude and experience and has played at a very decent level.

On the face of it (without too much knowledge on him), I'd prefer the lad from Watford to compliment Hill.

What lad from Watford? Mariappa? He was last at Crystal Palace

I've added a few things ...

Rangers ins/outs...at a glance.[/size]

In: Niko Kranjcar, midfielder (free); Joey Barton, midfielder (free); Matt Gilks, goalkeeper (free); Jordan Rossiter, midfielder (Liverpool, 250k); Clint Hill, defender (free); Lee Hodson, defender (free); Josh Windass, midfielder (free, compensation fee); Matt Crooks, midfielder (free, compensation fee).

Looks like we have spend less than a million thus far, more closer to 500k actually.

8 in and 10 out does not a deeper squad make!

While we have done well getting 8 in and only spent £500k on signings, we failed to get any money for 10 players leaving. This has to stop.[/QUOT

That's a bit harsh , many were out of contract and 3 were on loan

Perhaps, but our incoming transfer fees are going to be so important to us going forward, and that is now twice (that come quickly to mind) we have let a player go, still under contract, walking straight into another club, with others fighting for him, that we should have got a fee for, and didn't. McGregor was about to sign for St Johnstone, then hijacked by Hibs, and now Bell goes to another club that hates us after fighting off other clubs to get him. We have to wisen up.

Still a long way to go before we become a selling club it looks. Getting players off the payroll guys like Cammy Bell for nowt is good business right now.

If McKay reproduces last seasons form he'll be off for a mighty sum.
