Majority of Scots want to remain in the UK

Try sending fresh seafood from a West Coast port to Europe, the reason it goes via England is because it reaches its destination quicker ergo in better condition.

Last time I looked part of Scandinavia was attached to mainland Europe.

Are you saying that an EU country cannot move goods by road through a non EU country?

I really doubt they use that land connection to export goods to Western Europe. Pretty much why they built the Oresund Bridge...

Norway and Sweden are a matter of hours sailing from their markets, Greenock is days.

Norway sends it's fresh seafood to continental markets via Hirtshals on the Danish mainland, the Swedes via Freiderikshavn.

Our goes to mainland Europe via North Shields, Immingham or Dover, sending it via a West Coast Scottish port simply doesn't work. They tried sending prawns from the West Coast to Europe via a sea route and ended up bankrupt due to spoilage, it's only economic to do so via road and an English port or quite bizarrely via air from Prestwick.

Don't know how we got on to specific exports e.g. fish. RANGERRAB asked a general question about what Scottish ports could be used for exports.

Havent fully read the thread but have to say its baffling how SNP want independence from UK but want to join the EU....there is no independent nations when you join the EU.

They obviously believe it's in the best interest of Scotland to be the EU. I disagree with them on that and a few other things, would still vote yes again though.

I assume that bit of bonkers "truth" was put up for amusement at the crassness and lack of intelligence of most internet propaganda? :)

The problem is that people these days are so gullible, they fall for it... :(
