Herald newspaper apologises for publishing bigoted anti-Rangers story

Recommended Posts

In an earlier version of this story on the heraldscotland site yesterday it was suggested that Joey Barton, who has been suspended by Rangers Football Club, could take action against the club in a tribunal on grounds of religious discrimination. Rangers has no truck with discrimination on religious or any other grounds and we apologise for the suggestion causing offence to the club and its supporters.

Why even come up with this rubbish though?

Since Mojo, we've literally had hundreds of RC players and not one has had any problem yet quarter of a century later we've to believe that Barton might be the victim of sectarian motives and nothing to do with what's actually happened I.e. He's had a spat with MW.

I'm bowled over with their sincerity. I mean, it really hits the spot, eh?

Try firing Braiden and we might accept your 'apology'.

Spot on barca.

A journo suggests a player should pursue a civil litigation against our club based on not one but two complete falsehoods. Unbelievable

Did the Evening Times not print this too? Will there be an apology from them?

Both papers are from the same publishers so I'd expect the apology will be in the ET as well.

Quite frankly this was a disgraceful slur on everyone involved with Rangers. Braiden and his editor should be ashamed of themselves.
