Sheep to clap at the 12th minute on Sunday

Recommended Posts

It all sounds a trifle complex for these rubes: not only do they have to get the palm of one hand to hit the palm of the other, more than once,

they have to do it in unison.

Still, now that oil is seventeen shillings and sixpence per barrel, or whatever, they will have plenty of rehearsal time.

DONS supporters set to enrage visiting punters with new club jibe during the Sunday lunchtime showdown.

ABERDEEN fans are planning a minute’s applause to welcome "Rangers to Pittodrie for the first time".

The Red Army are encouraging supporters to clap in the 12th minute – a reference to the year of liquidation – and wear black armbands.

The move will enrage Rangers fans in what will already be a powderkeg fixture.

Police have issued a warning ahead of the Sunday lunchtime showdown, with chief superintendent Campbell Thomson stating troublemakers will be dealt with “firmly and robustly”.

A Dons supporters’ online poster reads: "To mark the arrival of 'Rangers' to Pittodrie for the first time we’d like to 'commemorate' the passing of the club formerly known as Rangers.

Aberdeen fans are set for a 12th-minute applause

"We would encourage all Aberdeen fans to arrive early to Pittodrie and you are asked to applaud enthusiastically on the 12th minute in memory of Rangers."

The plan, posted on Aberdeen fans’ forum Aberdeen Mad, will further stoke up tensions between supporters.

Police Scotland have revealed there will be extra patrols, dog handlers and mounted cops for one of the most thorough security operations ever launched in and around the ground.

A sellout 20,000 crowd is expected, with less than 1,000 tickets still remaning.

Of course the record have to give them a hand distributing the invite for them.

I love the way they immediately use such certain language as "will enrage" and "powderkeg" in reference to Rangers fans and the fixture in general. My god, these "newspapers" truly are living up to their name "gutter press".
