The flat earth theory

Recommended Posts

Ok this might get me some abuse.

Whats the genuine opinion about the flat earth? I don't think its flat but think there is an argument for it being a dome.

Anyone who has ever been to Dubai will know how flat it is and the skyline can be seen for 50 miles - in a sphere earth the landscape has to tip (I think its 8 inches for every square mile).

Not one photo of the sphere you see on TV is real by the way - this is fact - its all computerated.

The most interesting one is the Antarctic - not one corporation is allowed into the Antarctic. In the 50s the last explorer there found a wall of ice 20 miles high and estimated there was land larger than the USA beyond it. These things aren't just made up.

As I said - I expect a good pelting - buts its good debate.

I'm sorry, I don't get it. A Dome? As in umbrella shape? You think the earth is umbrella-shaped?

...

I agree most images of the planet are 'computer generated', but I think there is no doubt whatsoever that the earth is spherical -- not a perfect sphere, but spherical. I'm not sure how you can 'debate' the issue?

Why would it be flat? When every other planet is round? They are round because as molten rock / gases find their shape in space with zero gravity, that's the shape they go.

No, they find the spherical shape because of gravity.
