[FT] Celtic 1 - 1 Rangers (Hill 87)

Recommended Posts

HT 0-1. We had the best chance of the half and were the better side until that chance went begging, which seemed to turn the tide against us, and dreadful closing down and goalkeeping then cost us a very cheap goal. We were hanging on for the HT whistle for the last 10 minutes.

At only 1 goal down, we are far from out of it, but we have to win the midfield battle and take any half-chances that come our way.

Missed the Waggy chance but after that Celtic became the better side and as always a silly mistake from our player costs a goal.

Pitch is awful but our touch and passing is too slack more often than not which gifts Celtic possession and/our chances.

Still in but we need to try to create more and keeping work hard off the ball.

Wes had no chance with that goal, in fact if it weren't for a great save from their free kick it could be 2-0

Pathetic from the defender, there

It was Holt that mucked it up. I would prefer Toral on. Holt is having a mare and letting Brown put him off playing football. Hyndman is pretty invisible. Apart from that we are doing not too bad. Toral on for Holt and Dodoo on for Miller.

I agree. As far as playing football goes, they're not out playing us at all.

They havent outplayed us at all in any of the games, they are just far more ruthless at making the most of opponents mistakes, and have a decent keeper who comes up with big saves.

Everything they get is coming from our poor distribution, wayward passes, we need to sharpen up in possesion

Too hasty with playing the ball at times, which leaves Hyndman et al with no time to actually play the ball. looks a bit fazed too, the US chap - and no wonder. Much of what we do goes via the right flank, while Barrie is left being a spectator. A mistake let them in for the goal, elsewhere, they are, so far, not overwhelming. That said, they ran all over us last time around in the second half, so we better keep our performance levels at least as high as during the first 20 mins.

I don't know whether Brenda has had a game plan of allowing us to have the ball and breaking fast or we have actually been able to dominate at times. Either way, we've had some good spells, so I don't think all is lost. How will our fitness go in the second half?

Toral is injured. Gordon Smith reckons Holt was our man of the half that incident aside.......
