The Pre-Summer-2017 transfer rumours and hearsay all inclusive Thread

Recommended Posts

Of our loanees, Toral seems to be out of contract this summer, only a half-dubious source claims that he has signed a new deal with Arsenal.

Hyndman has a long contract with an EPL team and given his displays, which won't have go unnoticed in England, the best we can hope for is another loan. He'd sure cost 1.5 to 2.5m plus in the current English market, if not more.

Dorrans is an experienced and solid DM, and we have to remind ourselves that we'll have not that many central / defensive midfielders left this summer, as things stand right now.

I'm sure when Toral signed he said he had another year at Arsenal. That should clear up your half dubious source.

Gers after Maddison?

Rangers have been loosely linked with former Aberdeen loanee James Maddison, after Ibrox number three Jonatan Johansson took in Norwich City’s match with Preston North End earlier this week.

While Johansson was primarily watching rumoured Gers target Graham Dorrans, Maddison scored his first Canaries goal during an 11-minute sub appearance.

Despite scoring two and adding seven assists during his loan spell at Pittodrie, Maddison could leave Carrow Road in the summer for first-team football - and Rangers may fancy taking a punt on the 20-year-old. (Various)

A few more echoes of us being linked with Maddison in some Coventry City - related article.

Just to be clear here, Dorrans and Maddison are tied to the Canaries till 2019. In English Championship terms, that probably means a fee of at least 1.5m to 2m pounds each.

There is talk that Norwich are willing to mutually terminate some contracts if they don't get promoted.

Rangers have been linked with a swoop for Aberdeen midfielder Kenny McLean.

According to the Sun , Pedro Caixinha is an admirer of the 25-year-old, who is out of contract in the summer of 2018.

But Rangers would need to fork out a seven-figure transfer fee for one of the Dons’ most influential players.

Pedro swoop Rangers gaffer Pedro Caixinha plans to raid Aberdeen for midfielder Kenny McLean

SunSport can reveal the Ibrox boss has drawn up a summer wish-list - with the Dons star identified as a key target

RANGERS boss Pedro Caixinha plans to raid Aberdeen for midfielder Kenny McLean.

SunSport can reveal the Ibrox boss has drawn up a summer wish-list — with the Dons star identified as one of Caixinha’s key transfer targets.

McLean, 25, still has another year to run on his contract at Pittodrie.

Derek McInnes regards him as one of his main men and it’s anticipated he’ll soon move to tie him down on an improved deal.

Gers would need to pay a big seven-figure transfer fee to tempt Aberdeen to sell.

But Caixinha still wants to make an attempt to sign McLean with an official approach set to be made at the end of the season.

Sure one of the better players in the Premiership, wonder what Aberdeen would want, but actually expect that there soon will be a denial report about this. Much like with Ryan Jack, perhaps just a shot in the dark again, hoping to get some reply. Caixinha spoke to him after the last game ... which is probably the reason this came up.

Speaking of which, it was murmured that Jack has actually already agreed to join us earlier this year ... and all the talk after the link was just to keep the Sheep quite.

7 figures? Haha. Who are they trying to kid?

I guess it could be true, but it strikes me as an agent trying to fly kites.

Cheap shot by the DR again, obviously thinking that the whole suad of Saturday isn't fit for purpose ...

Rangers make three transfer bids, Caixinha asks board for 12 new players

By Gareth McKnight - May 1, 2017

Glasgow Rangers boss Pedro Caixinha has asked the Ibrox club’s board to fund the purchase of 12 new players this summer and the Scottish outfit have already made offers for three of them, The Daily Record report.

...

Caixinha has inherited a squad compiled by predecessor Mark Warburton, with it painstakingly clear that the Ibrox side do not have the quality to go head-to-head with Brendan Rodgers’ men.

The latest report suggests that the Portuguese trainer is ready to wield the axe this summer and wants almost a whole new group of players to work with in 2017-18.

It states that Caixinha has made a list of 12 men he is interested in and that the club have already submitted offers for three of the targets.

With Rangers’ high-profile financial woes of recent years still in mind, it remains to be seen just how much the Ibrox boss will have to spend on potential recruits.

A host of high earners are expected to be slashed from the club’s wage bill, with few of the current crop showing their worth of late.

Good to see that the DR again knows what PC is thinking and/or has access to his memos to the Board.
