SNP supporter by chance?

I'd urge everyone to vote tactically to minimise the SNP's seats.

I haven't heard anything about the SNP's policies either other than the election isn't about independence, no, sorry, apparently it is.

As for any policies the SNP do come up with, will it be like the last few years and they won't do anything that they promised and will just go on about independence.

#snpout

The big problem with tactical voting is that when the tactic doesn't work, many folk may slowly realise that they made a mistake (not that they'd ever admit it). They will then moan & whinge about why the Scot Govt is not doing enough in their local area, why services are degrading or being cut & why their local Councillor's are not doing enough for residents. Ultimately they will blame the SNP Govt, rather than the "Tactical" person that they voted in.

If people research the candidates, they can then vote for whom they believe will serve the local community the best (regardless of which party they represent).

Labour & Tory's are trying to force through results in local election, based on IndyRef policies, even though Independence has NOTHING to do with local councils.

I would argue that the local elections are actually more important to each of us than any General election - it gives us a direct say in how our local communities are run & voting for the wrong candidate is much more likely to have direct impact on our day-to-day lives.

VOTE FOR THE CANDIDATE THAT BEST SERVES THE COMMUNITY, NOT THE PARTY THEY STAND FOR.

Ah you're talking about local elections. It's a thread on the General Election. You can see where one might get confused :D

Picking the best candidate is all well and good but the SNP are using the local elections (or "elelctions" as they spell it in their manifesto...if only the SNP spent a minute debating education in Holyrood) to promote independence as they are blaming Westminster on the first page.

You can't blame other parties if the SNP are at it as well.

Also, we all know that there's no way the SNP would not use a favourable vote in the local elections to try and force a referendum. Everything is about independence for the SNP.

Voting in local elections is jobs for the boys/girls and in general elections even bigger jobs for them as I see it.

I know the UK is democracy but we get all these promises from those seeking election which only turns out to be "paper talk" but as it is the best we have got we have to put up with it.
