Aberdeens new strip (Rangers related)

Recommended Posts

Related to this, an interesting fact:

The first team in association football history to adopt a star was Juventus, who added one above their badge in 1958 to represent their tenth Italian Football Championship and Serie A title, at the time, the new national record.[1] This was an extension of the existing convention by which the reigning champions are entitled to display the scudetto on their shirts for the following season. The star was later formally adopted by some organisations as a symbol for ten titles, and the ratio of one star for ten titles has become the "most common" arrangement.

I note that Rangers are often ridiculed by other teams (surely not!!) for displaying 5 stars on our strip. Well we are just following protocol.

Have to say Aberdeen are the Nottingham Forest of Scotland. They do think they are the Liverpool but they need to wise up there.

They wont be near second place this coming season. McInnes showing Sunderland interest shows he would move and they have sold a lot of players. I dont like Hibs but they will be nearer second next season than Aberdeen.

We should whip up our own rules here. Take Bayern Munich for example. They proudly wear 4 stars above their club logo, after whiping up their own ranking: one star for 3 titles, two stars for 5 titles, three stars for ten titles, and four stars for 20 titles. Anyone got any questions? Anyone challenged them over it? No. Thanks, sit down!

IMHO, we should scrap the stars for next season's jerseys and put LIV (or hopefully LV) somewhere on it, standing for the Latin 54 or 55 respectively. Let the others come after us.
