Ongoing new manager discussion and speculation

Rangers will target Aberdeen boss McInnes

Caixinha’s three-year deal was shredded at a hastily arranged boardroom meeting hours after the 1-1 draw with Kilmarnock.

SunSport understands Rangers chiefs have already kicked off the search for his successor, with Aberdeen manager McInnes top of their list.

The former Ibrox star signed a new three-year deal at Pittodrie in the summer after snubbing a move to Sunderland.

That means Gers could be facing a potential compensation bill of around £1.5million.

But it’s believed they wouldn’t baulk at such a figure — knowing there is no room for error with their next appointment.

Wednesday’s home draw with Killie was the final straw for chairman Dave King, who also witnessed Gers’ 2-0 defeat to Motherwell in Sunday’s Betfred Cup semi-final.

The meeting which sealed Caixinha’s fate lasted only an hour before King left for his home in South Africa.

Shortly afterwards, a Gers statement confirmed: “Rangers announce that Pedro Caixinha has left the club.

Mcinnes woudnt get the time to build a team at us , hes had 4 or 5 years up there , 3 years ago they wanted rid of him , hes under no pressure , at us he would be a draw away from a disaster
