Ongoing new manager discussion and speculation

Recommended Posts

While Murty has had his problem results in both tenures, it might be worth noting that his win rate while in the top tier and not counting Europe, is now better than: PC, MW, PLG, John Grieg, Jock Wallace and Willie Waddell.

P 13 W 8 W% 61.5

However, the statistical sample for him is small and so very sensitive to wild fluctuations.

If he manages the next 5 games, it will be interesting to see his record for what adds up to almost the equivalent of half a season. It only takes 3 wins in those to put him at 61.1% to preserve his position.

Looking through that list....2 names certainly jumped out at me

- Laurent Blanc

- Luis Enrique

I know folk will say we can't afford them, but why not sound them out? Neither appear to be working at the moment, so possibly get them on a relatively short term, with options to extend.

Wasn't overly impressed with Luis Enrique at Barcelona.

Murty has done well but it seems it's the games against lesser teams we struggle in with him in charge. Which is a worry.

And it's John GREIG.

Only one draw out of the 13.

Since we coincided with Hibs in the Championship we've played them in 11 League games and not drawn any.

Obviously going to finish 1-1 tomorrow

Will it still be someone with knowledge of Scottish football or will Plan B (or is it Plan C) see a coach from the continent appointed?

Could we tempt a Bilic, Koeman, F de Boer, ten Haag etc?

Why do people even consider De Boer ?

He went to manage abroad and failed miserably at two clubs. 85 days at Inter and even less at Palace, where he didn't get a League win.
