Gonzo79 13,344
It will be beneficial to those worse off, hopefully. As much as I despise the SNP, I am happy to pay a wee bit more tax to help out people in need.

Gazza_8 233
So they give some public sectors a pay rise and quickly follow it up with an increase in tax a couple of months later.

As much as I despise the SNP, I am happy to pay a wee bit more tax to help out people in need. Only if it actually increases the overall tax yield. Given that people can choose where to work and businesses can choose where to invest I'm not so sure.
boabie 230
Their budget got cut by Westminster so have to make up the shortfall somehow. Imo not one single worker will move south due to the changes. Have you seen the price of property down there ?
Bluedell 5,298
Their budget got cut by Westminster so have to make up the shortfall somehow. It's got nothing to do with that. They had made it clear prior to the UK budget that they would increase taxes. their inability and incompetence Imo not one single worker will move south due to the changes. Have you seen the price of property down there ? There's cheap places and expensive places in England, just as there is in Scotland. Plus you don't need to buy a place to move your tax domicile.
ranger_syntax 3,714
All other things being equal we now have an additional disincentive to live, work or invest in Scotland. But yeah, it won't make any difference . . .
