Pacific Quay Musings?

My favourite was on the evening's BBC TV news, Chris McLaughlin was back on his grassy knoll in front of the Hinshelwood estate, about thirty minutes after the final whistle. He had rushed round from the Broomloan/Govan stands corner and changed into shirt and tie. Breathlessly staring into the camera, he opened with, "with sectarianism heavy in the air". We must give credit where it's due, Chris admits what he brings to the scene.

I laughed out loud at that one @26th of foot ???

BBC Scotland have undertaken a survey of all 42 senior clubs to collate information about the cost of football for fans – and Rangers fans on Twitter have blasted the broadcaster after it turned out the survey included all 42 SPFL clubs “except Rangers.”

There has long been bad feeling between the fans and the broadcaster over their coverage of the Light Blues and their refusal to attend Ibrox or the Hummel Training Centre.

GLASGOW, SCOTLAND - FEBRUARY 12: A general view of BBC Scotland premises at Pacific Quay on February 12, 2011 in Glasgow, Scotland. A row continues over plans that the BBC plans to move the Question Time programme from London to Glasgow. It is thought that the presenter David Dimbleby is on the verge of resigning over the proposed move of the programmes to Glasgow

The survey actually makes for interesting reading regarding the costs of supporting a football club – however by excluding the biggest and most-supported club in the country immediately excludes a huge swathe of fans.

Incredibly, there is some data from Rangers with the BBC instead lifting information from the club website rather than making direct contact as they did in the case of every other SPFL club.

Given the BBC’s position as one of the league’s broadcast partners – not to mention funded by many of the fans the chose to exclude – it only makes the entire row even more farcical and the SPFL should step in and demand the BBC apologise to one of their members.

Rangers fans on Twitter were quick to hammer the broadcaster after fan site CoplandRoad.org shared a screenshot of part of the article on Twitter

Also " trial by Sportscene " was mentioned a couple of times during their pishy highlights show last night but failed, yet again, to include a blatant dive by a Celtic player.

Steven Thompson said Rangers first goal should have been disallowed because Goldson was in an offside position, according to the new rules!!!!?

As we know, due to the ban of senior reporter McLaughlin, BBC Scotland is sadly unable to provide a full quality report nor correct updates from Ibrox. We thus had to send an apprentice junior reporter, since all senior staff was still on their way back from Hamilton or celebrating at PQ HQ.

I noticed after the final whistle the headline for our game was initially something very negative sounding like “Rangers win as Feyenerood spurn glorious late chance”. So basically Rangers win due to a blunder from

the opposition. By the time I refreshed this was changed to something much more positive but I can’t help but wonder what is going on at PQ.
