Until past few years can only recall John Greig sporting a beard which as I remember, he had to let grow due to a bad chin injury, but kept it as his "lucky mascot" as we were on the Cup Winners Cup run which ended in glory.

I have a recollection of either Greig himself or someone else in the squad at the time mentioning that he decided to keep the beard because he thought it made him look more intimidating.
