Vegas bound in May.

Easy place to get around, stunning hotels/casino resorts, practically guaranteed wall to wall sunshine and free drinkies when gambling - what's not to like??

Nowhere on the planet like it.

Love the place.

Strangely enough it's probably the most wheelchair friendly city in the world.

I have my own boat which has been lying doing nothing for nearly 5 years because of us buying and renovating our house. I have it going in to dry dock in May to repaint it. I would love to have a few weeks on it sailing on the Dutch lakes. I have totally no interest in staying in hotels and lying on a beach so no holiday resorts for me.

My wife wants to go back to Australia next year so that will probably be coming in the planning at the end of the year.

Sailing to Oz should save loads on air fares.

With a diesel usage of 4 litres per hour and a speed of 11km per hour I think i will just stick to the air fairs probably be a hell of a lot cheaper. I could of course buy a sail boat but the price of it plus sailing lessons still makes the air fares the better option. I also couldn't stand the boredom of hours of sailing, i am a 2-3 hour motor sailor and then berth the boat and sit on the aft-deck with a nice cold beer.

My boat is not really seaworthy anyway it is more for rivers and lakes.

My dad had a Moonraker boat [called Sundancer] with twin Mercruiser engines. As well as its tanks he'd 2 or 3,  55 gallon drums of diesel on its erse end when he went back and forward between the Cromarty Firth and Stavanger. It certainly wasn't a cheap way to travel.

Accessibility does seem to be something the city has put some real thought and effort into. One of the things I really love about the place is that it caters for all. Yes there is some emphasis on the young hip crowd but when I look around I see every single walk of life, people of all age groups and abilities.

There is no bar to anyone. From the gent or lady in their eighties, sitting in front of their favourite slot machine, scooter beside, at 09:00 and settled in for a long stint to the younger nocturnal punter to whom time of day is irrelevant sitting/standing drink in hand at the tables at 04:00.

Everyone just takes that all for granted and is there to have a party and a flutter. Can't beat it.

I don't get the Vegas thing at all.  But I Iike places of historical interest and I find gambling objectionable, so it's easy to see why.

I fancy a trip to Belgrade soon but that depends on some money which may or may not come through.  Anyone ever been?

The fanny in Belgrade is the finest quality I've ever seen, not a single ugly bird.

Sit at a table outside Hotel Moscow as there's a subway exit there and you get hunners of tidy birds passing every 3 or 4 minutes.
